Cornmill Shopping Centre is delighted to continue its partnership with Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington to host the Befriending Bench.
This initiative provides a welcoming space in the heart of Darlington for residents to connect and foster new friendships.
How it works
The bench is a designated area for shoppers to pause and engage in small interactions. To provide even more support, the Age UK befriending team will be at the bench on the third Thursday of every month from 10am to 2pm.
What to expect at our monthly drop-ins:
- Information & Advice: Expert guidance on services available for those aged 50 and over.
- Companionship: Meet the team behind the vital befriending and companionship programmes.
- Volunteer Opportunities: Discover how offering a regular phone call or visit can help tackle loneliness in our community.
