Darlington based, handmade jewellery and accessories store, Beaded Treasures, will open their doors at the Cornmill Centre on Thursday 6th March.
Beaded Treasures started in 2021, with owner Ambica Ramachandran opening a stall on Darlington Outdoor Market. As the business has grown, and attracted a loyal customer base, they were able to upsize to Darlington Indoor Market in 2023, and now a move to the town centre’s largest retail destination, the Cornmill Shopping Centre.
Specialising in handcrafted jewellery inspired by retro, vintage, mid-century, classic, and vogue styles, each piece is carefully made by owner Ambica Ramachandran. The store also provides bespoke customisation services and jewellery repairs, ensuring every customer finds or creates something unique.
In addition to jewellery, Beaded Treasures offers a wide range of accessories, including healing gemstones, charging mats, sterling silver, cubic zirconia pieces, handbags, brooches, hair accessories, scarves, and more. With its diverse product range and commitment to ethical sourcing and customer connection, the boutique aims to be a one-stop destination for distinctive adornments in Darlington’s premier shopping hub.
Ambica Ramachandran, owner of Beaded Treasures, said “I started making jewellery as a personal hobby, a way to unwind and express my creativity. I never thought Beaded Treasures would blossom into a thriving business able to open a new store in the Cornmill Centre.”
“It is a real privilege to be in a centre with such a strong independent retail offering, which I am excited to be a part of and help grow in the coming years.”
The news comes after the Cornmill Shopping Centre recently announced that six of their independent retailers, Faking It, Blush, Julies of Darlington, Hannigan’s, The Savoury Café, and The Sweet Shop, have renewed their leases, reinforcing the centre’s reputation as a thriving hub for local businesses. Through the hard work of Ambica and the support of the people of Darlington, they have been able to flourish and expand in the town, something we are delighted to support.”
“At the Cornmill Centre, we have a fantastic mix of ‘high street’ names and independents, offering huge choice to our visitors. This unique mix means we continue to thrive in the bustling Darlington town centre.”
