Cornmill Shopping Centre is working alongside Darlington College to promote a healthy start to the new year following the indulgent Christmas festivities.
Throughout January the partnership will aim to support residents and local shoppers by seeking to boost health and wellbeing across the borough.
On Monday 21st January, Cornmill Shopping Centre will host a ‘Body MOT’ pop-up event from 11am to 2pm with health and social care students from Darlington College on hand to provide information and advice, including Blood Glucose and Haemoglobin Tests – used to manage blood sugar levels.
Wanting to tone up after Christmas? Head to the centre on Wednesday 23rd January from 11am until 2pm where local companies such as Rockliffe, fit fresh and The Gym Group will teach health and wellbeing skills to help residents adopt a healthy and active lifestyle. Alongside the demonstrations, the students will share advice on course specific health awareness techniques including regulated heart checks and hand washing with exposure to UV lights – a technique aiming to target and eliminate key hygiene problems.
The advice given is to raise health and wellbeing awareness. You MUST always seek the advice of your GP or other qualified health practitioner’s if you have any medical questions or concerns.
